Notes: Kumaravyasa's real name was Naranappa. He is also known as Gadugina Naranappa because he came from Koliwada village near Gadag in North Karnataka. He wrote the Karnata Bharata Kathamanjari and took the pen name "Kumara Vyasa" in reverence to Sage Vyasa, the original author of the Mahabharata.
