Global corruption is rising as per Transparency International’s 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI). Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) measures perceived public sector corruption in 182 countries. It uses a scale from 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean). Only 5 countries scored above 80, down from 12 a decade ago. The global average score fell to 42, the lowest in over ten years. 122 countries scored below 50, showing serious corruption concerns. Denmark ranked first with 89; South Sudan and Somalia ranked last with 9. India ranked 91st with a score of 39, showing slight improvement.
