Q. What is the name of India’s first satellite launch vehicle?
Answer: SLV-3
Notes: India’s first satellite launch vehicle was SLV-3. The first attempt to launch SLV-3 was in 1979 carrying 35 Kg Rohini satellite but it was failed.  However, in the second flight of SLV-3 during 1980, the Rohini satellite was placed in the orbit. SLV-3 was an Indian satellite launch vehicle that was developed and operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in the 1980s. It was designed to be a low-cost, lightweight rocket that could be used to launch small satellites into orbit. The SLV-3 made its maiden flight in 1979, and over the course of its operational lifetime, it conducted six successful launches, including the launch of India's first satellite, Aryabhata, in 1975. The SLV-3 was retired from service in the early 1990s and was replaced by the more powerful Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), which is still in use today.
