In June 2020, the Government of India revised MSME definitions. A Small Enterprise is classified with investment in plant and machinery or equipment not exceeding ₹10 crore. The notification also set annual turnover for Small Enterprises at not more than ₹50 crore. Prior to 2020, only investment was considered. The revised criteria combine investment and turnover limits.
