Jharkhand has 63.5 million tonnes of bauxite reserves, about 6% of India's total 830 million tonnes. According to Indian Minerals Yearbook and IBM surveys, Jharkhand ranks seventh in bauxite reserves across India. Major deposits in Jharkhand include Ranchi, Lohardaga, Palamu, Gumla, Singhbhum, Kolhan, and Santhal Pargana regions. Odisha leads with 39% (325 million tonnes) of reserves, followed by Chhattisgarh and others like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, each holding over 100 million tonnes.
