Massanjore Dam, also known as Masanjor Dam, is located on the Mayurakshi River near Dumka in Jharkhand. It is commonly called the Canada Dam. The dam was commissioned in 1955. Canada funded its construction through counterpart rupee funds from wheat supplies. Canadian Foreign Minister Lester B. Pearson inaugurated the dam formally. The dam is a hydropower project. Official and tourism sources in Jharkhand recognize Massanjore Dam by this alternate name.
