Jharkhand Opportunities for Harnessing Rural Growth
JOHAR stands for Jharkhand Opportunities for Harnessing Rural Growth. It is a World Bank-funded project launched in 2017 by the Government of Jharkhand. The project aims to enhance rural livelihoods and targets doubling incomes of 2 lakh BPL families across 17 districts and 68 blocks. JOHAR focuses on sectors like high-value agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and minor forest produce. It is implemented by the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society under the Department of Rural Development for six years (2017-2024).
