Veer Bal Diwas is observed annually on 26 December in India. It honours the martyrdom of Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Zorawar Singh, the young sons (Sahibzade) of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Their bravery and loyalty to their religion inspired the Government of India to declare 26 December as Veer Bal Diwas in 2022. The day commemorates the courage, sacrifice, and ideals of India’s young heroes. On 26 December, the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar was conferred on 20 children from 18 States and Union Territories for outstanding achievements in Bravery, Art & Culture, Environment, Social Service, Science & Technology, and Sports. The awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
