Agricultural loans
Akbar was deeply interested in the improvement of productivity and extension of cultivation. He asked the amils (local revenue officials) just like a father asks the peasants. He had to advance money by way of loans (taccavi) to the peasants for seeds, implements, animals, etc. in time of need and to recover them in easy instalments.
