Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL), the construction company executing the Ratle Hydroelectric Project, has stated that it may withdraw from the project if the administration fails to curb threats and interference from local elements and political actors. The Ratle Hydroelectric Project is an 850 MW run-of-river hydroelectric power project being developed on the Chenab River in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The project is being implemented by the Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (RHPCL). Once completed, the project is expected to generate approximately 3,137 GWh of electricity annually, contributing significantly to regional power supply.
