Notes: Morarji Desai, the 4th Prime Minister of India (24 March, 1977 – 28 July, 1979) was conferred with India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 1991. He is the only Indian national to be awarded the Nishan-e-Pakistan, highest civilian award given by the Government of Pakistan.
