Sikandar Lodi, an Afghan ruler of the Lodi dynasty, founded Agra in 1504. Although it later gained prominence under the Mughal emperors—especially Akbar and Shah Jahan—its original establishment is credited to Sikandar Lodi. This strategic development was aimed at strengthening the administration and military control in northern India.
