Equatorial Guinea is a Central African country known for its two diverse territories - the mainland region known as "Rio Muni", and an insular region that includes "Bioko Island", site of the capital city Malabo. As the island country is located to the west of Central Africa, the Bight of Biafra/Bight of Bonny of the South Atlantic Ocean forms its coastline. The "Bioko Island" accommodates a volcanic landscape and is particularly located in the Gulf of Guinea region. The other significant islands of this insular region of Equatorial Guinea encompass Annobon Island and three offshore islands of the mainland region, part of the Gulf of Guinea.
