Notes: In the year 1915 (25th May), Gandhiji established the Sabarmati Ashram on the land of one of his Barrister friends Jivanlal Desai. It was known as Satyagraha Ashram at that time. Later it was relocated on the banks of the Sabarmati river in the year 1917. From that time it is known as Sabarmati Ashram.
