Q. Who was the immediate successor of Alauddin Khilji?
Answer: Shihabuddin Omar
Notes: After Alauddin's death, Mubarak Shah was imprisoned by Malik Kafur, who appointed his younger brother Shihabuddin Omar as a puppet monarch. Omar was merely six years old when he was appointed as successor of Alauddin. Other sons of Alauddin were either detained or blinded. Kafur was later murdered and this led Mubarak Shah to dethrone Omar and become Sultan.
