The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister, approved the PAN 2.0 Project. PAN 2.0 is an e-Governance initiative to upgrade taxpayer registration services and enhance the digital experience of PAN/TAN services. The project will consolidate and upgrade the current PAN/TAN system, including PAN validation services. It aims to improve ease of access, service delivery, data consistency, and eco-friendly processes. The project supports the Digital India vision by making PAN a common identifier across government digital systems, optimizing infrastructure for security and agility.
