Both South Koel and North Karo Rivers
The Koel Karo project in Jharkhand includes two dams: one on the South Koel River and another on the North Karo River. The project features a trans-basin canal connecting these reservoirs. It generates 710 MW of hydropower and affects districts like Ranchi, Gumla, and West Singhbhum. Approximately 120 villages and over 100,000 people, mainly Adivasis, are impacted by this project. The presence of dams on both rivers confirms the location of the project.
