Maulavi Ahmadullah was a leader in the Indian Rebellion of 1857 in Bihar. He organized guerrilla warfare against British forces. Kunwar Singh and Laxmibai were also 1857 freedom fighters but not linked to Mukti Vahini Sena. Bahadur Shah Zafar was the last Mughal emperor and symbolic figurehead of the 1857 revolt. Mukti Vahini Sena is rarely documented; Maulavi Ahmadullah’s guerrilla strategies relate to similar regional resistance groups during 1857.
