Discovery of jewellery from the Late Harappan period
In 2000, treasures and ornaments believed to be from the Late Harappan period were discovered at the archaeological site of Mandi in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh. This significant find, now known as the Mandi Treasure, provided important insights into the craftsmanship and trade during the Late Harappan period. No Ashokan edicts or Buddhist stupas have been found here, nor are there remains of early Gupta temples at this site.
