Notes: Lee Commission was appointed in the year 1923 during the time of Lord Reading. It had an equal number of British and Indian Members. As per its report published in 1924, it recommended for setting up of a Public Service Commission. First Public service Commission was appointed in the year 1926. The chairman of the first Public Service Commission was Sir Ross Barker.
