Jog Falls is created by the Sharavathi River in Sagara taluk, Shivamogga district, of Karnataka. With a drop of 253 metres, it is the second-highest plunge waterfall in India after the Nohkalikai Falls with a drop of 335 m in Meghalaya.It is a segmented waterfall which, depending on rain and season, becomes a plunge waterfall.
