Notes: The policy of Subsidiary Alliance of Lord Wellesley was signed by Nizam of Hyderabad in 1798. The other states that brought under the British control by this system are Tanjore (1799), Awadh(1801), Gwalior(1804), Indore (1817), Udaipur,Jodhpur and Jaipur (1818). As per this system, any state which entered into this alliance had to give money or some territory for maintenance of British forces in the state.
