Notes: Anant Laxman Kanhere of VD Savarkar's Abhinav Bharat Society shot dead the District Magistrate of Nasik AMT Jackson on 21 December 1909. 27 members of the Abhinav Bharat Society were convicted and punished. Ganesh Savarkar, brother of VD Savarkar, was sent to Kala Pani. Anant Kanhere was just 18 at the time of the act. He was hanged in the Thane Prison on 19 April 1910. Krishnaji Karve and Vinayak Deshpande, the co-plotters and back-ups for eliminating Jackson, were also hanged.
