Notes: As the founder of the Timurid Empire in Persia and Central Asia, Timur Lang became the first ruler in the Timurid dynasty. In 1398, Timur invaded northern India, attacking the Delhi Sultanate ruled by Sultan Nasir-ud-Din Mahmud Shah Tughluq of the Tughlaq Dynasty. He left India in 1399 and appointed Khizr Khan as governor of Lahore, Multan, and Dipalpur.
