Notes: Daojali handing is an important Neolithic site in Assam. Excavated in 1961-63 by a team led by M C Goswami and T C Sharma, it is the first stratified neolithic site discovered in Northeast India. It occupies an important place in the archaeological history of India as the first evidence of an Eastern Asiatic Neolithic complex of double-shouldered Celts and cord-marked pottery in India was reported from there.
