Answer: Fourth
Notes: The Governor General, Lord Wellesley asked Tipu Sultan to break his ties with French and enter into the Subsidiary Alliance but he refused to accept it. Thus, the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War (1799) started. In this war, Tipu Sultan died in 1799 while defending his capital Srirangapatnam. The British annexed the large part of Mysore and placed Prince Krishnaraj , a member of old Hindu royal Woodiyar dynasty, on the throne of Mysore and a subsidiary alliance system was imposed.
