Keibul Lamjao National Park
The Sangai, or brow-antlered deer, is an endangered species listed by the IUCN. It is endemic to Manipur, India, and is found solely in Keibul Lamjao National Park, which is also the state animal of Manipur. The deer inhabits unique floating islands called "phumdi" in Lake Loktak, formed from biomass, soil, and decaying matter, which are also home to local communities.
