Volleyball is a team sport with two teams of six players separated by a net. Each team can also have up to six substitute players. This means that a total of 12 players can be on a team for an indoor volleyball match.
Before the start of a game, three players from each team stand in their court behind the attack line, and the remaining three stand at the back. When a team wins back service from the opposition, each player must rotate one position clockwise. Only the three players at the net positions can jump and spike or block near the net.
The five positions that volleyball players can play are: Setter, Middle blocker, Outside hitter, Weakside hitter, Libero.
The setter's job is to set up the ball for their teammates to attack. The outside hitter hits the ball from the left side of the court.
