Latehar district in Jharkhand has 9 administrative blocks. These include Latehar, Chandwa, Balumath, Manika, Barwadih, Garu, Mahuadanr, Bariyatu, and Herhanj. The district was established on April 4, 2001, after separating from Palamu district. It has two subdivisions: Latehar Sadar and Mahuadanr. Latehar spans an area of 3,660 square kilometers and is located in the Palamu region of northwestern Jharkhand.
