Q. During which governor general's time was the annexation of Sindh in British State done?
Answer: Lord Ellenborough
Notes: The East India Company because of the strategic positions of the Ports of Sind had tried its hand as early as 1775 to open a factory out there. But they abandoned it in 1792. In August 1842, Lord Ellenborough placed Major-General Sir Charles J. Napier (1782-1853) in command of Sind, with the mission of assisting the evacuation of British forces from Kandahar. Sind was annexed in 1843.
