Notes: The construction was started by Anantavarman Chodgangadeva of the Eastern Ganga empire. In 1174 AD it was completed by Anangabhima III. In 1360 Firoz Shah Tughlaq desecrated this temple. Narasingha deva I built the famous Konark Sun Temple (Black Pagoda).
