Notes: Under Bihar Official Language Act of 1950, Hindi was made the official language of Bihar. This Act received the assent of the Governor on the 13th November 1950 and the assent was first published in the Bihar Gazette of the 29th November 1950. This act was provided for the adoption of Hindi in Devanagari script as the language to be used for the official purposes of the State of Bihar.
