Assamese and Maithili
The plays in Akia Nat are written in Assamese-Maithili mixed language is called Brajavali. It is a traditional monologue of Assam. It was started in the 15th-16th century by the famous Vaishnava saint Sankaradeva and his disciple Madhavadev. It is performed in the style of an opera and depicts events in the life of Lord Krishna.
