Notes: Bhagalpur in Bihar is going to get North India's first and India's fourth bird ringing station. Other three bird ringing stations are at Tamilnadu (Chennai), Rajasthan (Jaipur), Orissa (Bhuvneshwar). Bird ringing station has been established for observation, monitoring, and research on migratory birds. Bhagalpur is one of the three known breeding grounds for migratory birds after Cambodia and Assam.
The station will be manned by trained scientists and other technical manpower from Bombay Natural History Society.
