Notes: Hon’ble Minister of State Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel released Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics 2025 (BAHS 2025) on National Milk Day, November 26, 2025, at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi. BAHS 2025 provides comprehensive data on livestock and dairy sector based on Integrated Sample Survey (ISS) from 1 March 2024 to 29 February 2025. India ranks 1st in the world in milk production. Total milk production is estimated at 247.87 million tonnes during 2024–25. Uttar Pradesh is the largest milk producing state with 15.66 percent share. Rajasthan ranks second with 14.82 percent share. Madhya Pradesh contributes 9.12 percent. Gujarat contributes 7.78 percent.
