Notes: On April 13, 1919 Jallianwala Bagh Massacre took place when acting Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer ordered troops of the British Indian Army to fire their rifles into a crowd of unarmed Indian civilians in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, Punjab, killing at least 400 people including men and women. Over 1,000 people were injured. Report Submission by Hunter Committee comprising six volumes of evidence and released on 8 March 1920, unanimously condemned Dyer’s actions. The Chauri Chaura incident took place at Chauri Chaura in the Gorakhpur district of the United Province, (modern Uttar Pradesh) in British India on 4 February 1922, when a large group of protesters, participating in the Non-cooperation movement, clashed with police, who opened fire. The Swaraj Party was established as the Congress-Khilafat Swaraj Party. It was a political party formed in India in January 1923.
