Amazon has employed thousands of workers to improve and assist the Alexa digital assistant powering its line of Echo speakers. Amazon workers team listens to voice recordings captured in Echo owners’ homes and offices. They might also hear private details such as bank details. The recordings are fed back into the software to eliminate gaps in Alexa’s understanding of human speech and respond to commands.
