Army officer, 2 soldiers killed in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley
One Commanding Officer and two jawans of the Indian Army lost their lives in a major escalation in the during a violent faceoff between troops in the Galwan area in Eastern Ladakh on Monday night.
- The Army Sources said that During the de-escalation process underway in the Galwan Valley, a violent face-off took place yesterday night with casualties on both sides.
- According to the Army, there was no firing during the face-off, there has not been any firing incident between the two sides since 1975 when the Chinese had ambushed a patrolling party of India.
- The Chinese have accused India of crossing the border twice and attacking Chinese personnel which led to serious physical conflict between the two sides
After the incident a senior army commander level meeting is being conducted between the two, simultaneously defence minister also conducted the meeting with the CDS and the three Chiefs of staff
