Notes: Baji Rao II was the last Peshwa. After defeat in the Third Anglo-Maratha War (1817–1818), British exiled him to Bithur, ending the Maratha Empire and Peshwa rule in India. He ruled from 1796 to 1818. The Peshwa office was officially abolished by the British in 1818.
