From September 27 to October 5, 2025, New Delhi is hosting the World Para Athletics Championships for the first time. The venue is Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with over 1,000 athletes from 100+ nations. This marks India’s debut as host and one of the largest para-sport events in the country. The Championships are the biggest para-athletics competition after the Paralympic Games. Events include sprints, relays, long-distance races, jumps, throws, and other track and field disciplines. India’s medal tally has improved from 2 silvers at Doha 2015 to 17 medals at Kobe 2024.
