Notes: The Battle of Kanauj on 17 May 1540 saw Sher Shah Suri defeat Mughal Emperor Humayun, gaining control of Agra and Delhi. Sher Shah introduced the Rupiya and established the Grand Trunk Road. Humayun was exiled to Persia, later returning in 1555.
