Burn and Slash Farming
Shifting Cultivation - It is a primitive form of utilisation of poor soils in the areas of tropical rainforest type of climates.
Fire and hand tools are used for clearing the ground and for simple forms of cultivation, due to which shifting cultivation is also called burn-and-slash type of farming. Parts of northeastern India, Indonesia and the tropical forest regions of South and East Asia are the areas where this type of farming is still practised.
