Pagladiya Multipurpose Dam is located in the Nalbari District of Assam. The dam was constructed over the Pagladiya River, a tributary of the Brahmaputra. The dam's construction began in February 2019.
The Pagladiya River originates in the southern slopes of the Bhutan hills. It flows 19 km through the hilly terrain of Bhutan and then another 177.80 km. The river enters the Nalbari district of Assam near Chowki.
The dam's proposed site is about 26 km north of Nalbari town, near the Indo-Bhutan International Border. The area is inhabited by both tribal and non-tribal communities.
