The Telangana state government will construct a 2.5 km-long bridge across the Mir Alam Tank in Hyderabad, along with developing three island zones inspired by Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. Mir Alam Tank is a freshwater lake situated in the southern part of the Musi River in Hyderabad. It spans around 260 acres and stores nearly 21 million cubic meters of water. The tank is naturally fed by streams and springs from nearby hills. It was once the main drinking water source for Hyderabad before the Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs were built between 1913 and 1925.
