Notes: Shah Alam II was forced to grant the Diwani (right to collect revenue) of Bengal in 12th August, 1765,(which included Bihar and Odisha) to the British East India Company in return for an annual tribute of 2.6 million rupees to be paid by the company from the collected revenue. Tax exempt status was also restored to the company.
