Notes: In the year 1906, the Government of South Africa passed the Asiatic Registration Act. The act mandated making of a thumb-printed certificate of identity to every male Asian by registration. Gandhiji termed it as the "Black Act". After the agitation of Gandhiji and his delegation, it was repealed.
