The Central Government granted export licenses to five Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from Bhagalpur, for the first time on February 26, 2023. The licenses will allow them to directly export agricultural goods like Zardalu mangoes and Katarni rice, thus boosting local farmers' economic prospects by providing global market access. These products, having a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, will now reach international buyers, improving the region's agricultural economy.
