Notes: Harshavardhana (606 to 647 AD) and Pulakesin II (610–642 AD) were contemporaries to each other. According to the Aihole inscription, Pulakesin of the Chalukyan dynasty defeated Harshavardhana of Kannauj on the banks of the Narmada.
