Notes: The Lucknow Pact refers to the agreement between the Congress (INC) and the Muslim League (AIML). The pact was confirmed at their respective annual sessions at Lucknow on 29 and 31 December 1916. The Pact earned for Jinnah the title the “Ambassador of Hindu-Muslim Unity” from Sarojini Naidu. Lucknow Session was presided by Ambica Charan Majumdar and was known for concession of separate electorates for the Muslims by the Congress Party.
