Notes: Hortus Malabaricus which means "Garden of Malabar" is a botanical treatise written in the 17th century on the medicinal properties of flora found in the Malabar Coast (the Western Ghats districts of Kerala, Karnataka and Goa). This treatise was compiled by Hendrik van Rheede, the Governor of Dutch Malabar from the years 1669 to 1676.
